Western United Football Club
Western United Football Club (WUFC) is the A-League club that represents the people from the west of Victoria – urban, regional and rural.
The club believes in working hard, growing the game of football in the community, and embodying the aspirational, hard-working and successful spirit of the people of the west. Together with its partners, WUFC is on a journey to build the future of football for the western region – an ambitious journey that will unite generations to come and create a football club that will make people proud.
About our collaboration
Having formed a partnership in late 2019 for WUFC’s inaugural season, VU and WUFC have extended their partnership for a further two seasons (including men’s A-League, women’s Liberty A-League, Calder United, futsal and Academy squads).
Together, we share a passion and commitment to Melbourne’s west and the greater western region of Victoria. Our programs contribute to the prosperity and vibrancy of one of the fastest-growing regions in Australia.
Our collaboration is extensive, and focused on student experience and employment outcomes. This comes alive through:
- the VU Remedial Massage Clinic where students work with WUFC players
- physiotherapy student placements at the WUFC training facilities
- various administrative and professional student-placement opportunities, including in events and commercial operations.
