About VU

Message from the Vice-Chancellor and President

Welcome to Victoria University, a university where students really enjoy the opportunity to achieve their goals while developing a desire for lifelong learning.

We are committed to opening up high-quality tertiary education to students from a diverse range of backgrounds and experiences.

Located in the western region of Melbourne, Victoria University (VU) is one of Australia's newest and largest universities. It is home to three faculties in higher education, two in Vocational Education, and one in Further Education.

This means that students can choose from a vast array of courses at certificate, diploma, degree and postgraduate levels.

The University's research programs flourish across a range of areas, backed up by alliances with other major research institutions.

Our facilities, whether they be in the studies of law, technology or human movement - to NAME just three examples - are top class.

Victoria University's international involvement covers an extensive range of exchange programs, a large overseas population - both in Australia and offshore - and numerous international projects.

Take your time in visiting Victoria University via our website.

I wish you well in your academic endeavours.

Professor Elizabeth Harman
Vice-Chancellor and President
