No matter where you want to go in life, at VU we believe there should always be more than one way of getting there, that's why we created Pathways. So regardless of whether you didn't get the ENTER score you needed, you're looking for more flexible study arrangements or you just want to keep your options open, VU has a Pathway for you.
What is a Pathway?
At its simplest, Pathways refers to all of the different ways you can get where you want to go in Victoria University, that don't involve coming straight from high school.
A Pathway allows you to link the qualifications you already have, or are in the process of getting, with the course you want to do. This makes it easier for you to transfer across into the right course and get all the credits you're due.
Pathways into Higher Education
To find out what Pathways are available for you into Higher Education, all you need to do is check out our VU Pathways Database.
Once you've found the best Pathway, external applicants need to lodge a Recognition of Prior Learning Form, while internal applicants use the Course Application Form.
In both cases, applicants should quote the Pathway code they wish to use from the database in order to simplify the process.
If you can't find a pathway that's right for you then just contact the relevant Faculty or School Office and ask them.
Please note the existence of a pathway does not guarantee entry into a course.
Pathways to Vocational and Further Education (TAFE)
For all the information you need on the Pathways for Vocational and Further Education (TAFE) just go to the Department of Science and Education's website. Or if you're an Apprentice, visit the Australian Apprenticeships Training Information Service website.
If you want to apply to transfer credit within Vocational and Further Education (TAFE), use the Credit Transfer Application Form.
To apply for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) for part of a Vocational or Further Education (TAFE) course, discuss your application with the relevant Program Manager and submit a TAFE RPL Form.
Staff requiring further information on pathways should consult the Courses and Pathways Unit.
