Computer Labs (Open Access)

The Open Access facilities are available for use by all Victoria University students. In addition, some faculties have laboratories open between classes for students to use.

Computer laboratories, printers and photocopiers are usually very busy when assignments are due so you may not be able to get access to a computer when you want it. You need to allow extra time to be sure of completing your work on time. Make sure you organise your workload so that your deadlines are achievable.

Internet access for educational purposes is available on some machines in each Open Access facility. Refer to Student Internet Quota information. This information is available on the VU Intranet (Student Username and Password required to view pages).

If in doubt about any issue, please call the Helpdesk on 9919 2777 or email helpdesk@vu.edu.au for further information.

Please note that Library opening hours will vary throughout the year, to get the latest information, check http://w2.vu.edu.au/library/info/openhrs.html or contact your campus Library.

Use of the University computing facilities is governed by the "Appropriate use of Information Technology Facilities" which is on the intranet at http://wcf.vu.edu.au/GovernancePolicy/PDF/POI050524002.PDF. It is recommended that you familiarise yourself with this policy. Signage in the computer laboratories will also give you useful information, including rules specific to that laboratory and copyright issues.
