What is VTAC?
The Victorian Tertiary Admissions Centre ( VTAC ) acts on behalf of participating institutions, to receive and distribute applications and supporting documentation from applicants for relevant Higher Education and TAFE courses. Application through VTAC is required for many courses only during the Semester One intake each year, and an application fee is payable to VTAC.

Search for Courses On-line
You can search on-line for courses that are currently accepting applications via the MYVU Portal online applications system. (Please note the online system is not available for the Mid-year Intake)
To access the application system in MYVU Portal - https://myvuportal.vu.edu.au and select the Admissions tab. Select the relevant option.
Applying On-line
You can apply directly for courses or submit VTAC Supplementary Information online using the MYVU Portal online applications system. (Please note the online system is not available for the Mid-year Intake)

February/March commencement (Semester One)
TAFE Courses
Applications for full-time or part-time Certificate I, II, III and TAFE Graduate Certificate courses are made directly to the University.
Applications for part-time study to Certificate IV, Diploma and Advanced Diploma courses are also made directly to the University.
Applications for full-time study to most Certificate IV, Diploma and Advanced Diploma courses are made through VTAC . Please refer to the VTAC Guide (available from newsagencies or on the VTAC website) for details on these courses. To make an application through VTAC, apply on-line at www.vtac.edu.au .
TAFE courses currently accepting applications are listed in the TAFE Course Index. Applications to courses not available through VTAC are made on a TAFE Direct Admission, Supplementary Information Form.
Undergraduate Courses
Most applications during the Semester One intake to most undergraduate degree courses are made through VTAC . Refer to the VTAC Guide (available from newsagencies or on www.vtac.edu.au) for a list of available courses.
Undergraduate courses currently accepting applications are listed in the Higher Education Undergraduate Course Index. Applications to courses not available through VTAC are made on a Higher Education Direct Admissions, Supplementary Information Form.
Postgraduate Courses
Coursework: Applications to Postgraduate Coursework programs are made direct to the University by completing a Higher Education Direct Admissions, Supplementary Information Form. Postgraduate Coursework programs currently accepting applications are listed in the Higher Education Postgraduate Course Index .
Research: If you are interested in pursuing a Masters by Research or Doctor of Philosophy, please contact the Postgraduate Research Unit on (03) 9919 4521.

June/July commencement (Mid-year)
Victoria University's Mid-year intake commences in early May each year with the mid-year course indexes listing courses having a mid-year intake. All mid-year applications are made direct to the University for Postgraduate (coursework), Undergraduate degree and TAFE programs. Course availability changes from year to year. Mid-year course indexes are available on the Which courses are available? page.
Courses having continuous intake
A number of Victoria University TAFE courses accept applications continuously throughout the year. Please refer to the current TAFE Course Index for a complete list of these courses.
Short courses
Victoria University offers a range of short courses. Information is available by contacting the Short Course Centre on (03) 9919 7920.
Currently enrolled Victoria University students
Applicants who are currently enrolled at Victoria University and wish to apply for a different course at the University may apply directly to the University by completing an Internal Course Application form available on the Application Forms page. Applicants who are former students of Victoria University (i.e., former students who are not currently enrolled at the time of application) must apply for their course in the normal method as specified in the relevant sections above. For more information about Internal Course Applications please contact the relevant Faculty or TAFE department.

Applications received by the Admissions Office will be acknowledged in writing. The University reserves the right to conduct only those courses in receipt of sufficient numbers of suitably qualified applicants.
