The English Language Institute offers a range of courses, including:
- General English (GE)
- English for Academic Purposes (EAP): for TAFE, undergraduate and postgraduate preparation.
- IELTS Preparation
- English for Overseas Teachers
- English for Health Sciences
General English
The General English course is offered at beginner to intermediate levels. The course develops students' skills in speaking, listening, reading and writing.
English for Academic Purposes (EAP)
The English for Academic Purposes course is designed to prepare students for TAFE, undergraduate and postgraduate studies at Victoria University.
The EAP courses are:
- Intermediate
- Upper Intermediate/Advanced
- University Preparation 2 (UP2) for undergraduate course entry
- University Preparation 1 (UP1) for postgraduate course entry
Exam Preparation
The IELTS Preparation course is 5-10 weeks duration.
English for Overseas Teachers
The English for Overseas Teachers program prepares teachers to teach English in their own country or to seek entry into postgraduate courses in TESOL at Victoria University.
English for Health Sciences
The English for Health Sciences course prepares students to undertake health specific courses such as nursing or undergraduate studies in Health Sciences.
Course Hours
Lessons are held for 25 hours each week. Classes begin at 9.00 am and finish at 3.30 pm from Monday to Friday.
Tuition Fees
Tuition fees for all English Language courses are AUD$320 per week. There are no application or enrolment fees.
