Victoria University welcomes applications from students wishing to undertake further study in Australia.
Students must meet English language entry requirements to gain admission into undergraduate and postgraduate courses.  The following is a guide for international students wishing to apply for University Preparation Courses at the English Language Institute.
Requirements for General English Intensive Courses for Overseas Students (ELICOS):
Students will be given a placement test to determine their language proficiency and class placement.
Minimum Requirements to enter University Preparation 2 (10 weeks):
- Upper Intermediate 'Achieved' in all skills in the ELI placement test or
- IELTS score of 5.5 with Reading 5.5, Writing 6.0, Listening 5.0+, Speaking 5.0+ or
- A TOEFL 525 and TWE 4.0+
When you successfully complete University Preparation 2 you can enter undergraduate courses at Victoria University.
Minimum Requirements to enter University Preparation 1 (10 weeks):
- Advanced 'Starting in all skills in the ELI placement test or
- Successful completion of UP2 or
- IELTS score of 6.0 overall
- A TOEFL 550+ and TWE 4.0+
When you successfully complete University Preparation 1 you can enter most postgraduate courses at Victoria University. Some courses may require higher entry requirements.
