Travel and health insurance
You should take out at least four weeks' travel insurance before your departure. Your travel agent should be able to help you organise this.

Overseas Student Health Cover
It is compulsory for all international students holding student visas, and their dependants in Australia, to maintain adequate Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) throughout their course of study. Exceptions - Norwegian and most Swedish students on government-funded programs, as the Australian Department of Health and Aged Care has advised that these countries have national health schemes which provide adequate health insurance overseas.

OSHC Worldcare is Victoria University's preferred provider
OSHC Worldcare is the preferred provider at Victoria University. They specialise in providing quality services to international students and have been selected as the preferred provider in over 75 per cent of Australian universities.
They will be able to assist you with all your OSHC enquiries and provide on-campus services including 'cash claims' . Visit the OSHC Worldcare website for further information
Program length coverage
It is a requirement at Victoria University that you purchase program length cover. This is a once-only payment which provides rate protection for the duration of the cover. This means that you are protected from paying more if the OSHC premiums increase.
Already have OSHC cover?
That's great. You must still prove program length cover. VUI can arrange to top up your existing OSHC. To work out how much to pay, count the number of months from your current OSHC expiry date to the end of your course. Refer to the OSHC Worldcare calculator on the OSHC Worldcare website.
Students requiring family OSHC cover
Please indicate if you require family OSHC cover on your completed International Student Offer Acceptance Form. You need to include the Family OSHC Premium in your deposit.
Once you have arrived in Australia, you can visit or make an appointment to see the OSHC Worldcare representative to arrange to have your family details added to your OSHC membership. Membership cards will be organised for all family members.
