Who we are and what we do
Some members of your ISS team
The friendly and dedicated International Student Support team at VUI is committed to supporting you from your first enquiry to when you become an alumnus of the University. We want to ensure that your time as a student at VU is as richly rewarding as possible.
We understand the challenges that international students face when trying to adjust to a new culture and environment, making new friends, and studying successfully all at the same time. We want your VU experience to be a positive one. Rest assured, you are not alone, we are here to help you with any question or concern.
We offer you:
- free airport reception service on your first arrival to Victoria University (this must be pre-booked)
- an orientation and enrolment program to assist with your transition to living in Melbourne and studying at VU
- assistance and support on cultural issues, transition to life in Melbourne and study
- support and encouragement
- a range of social activities and programs
- a Farewell Program to assist you in your transition to returning home, with an opportunity to celebrate your accomplishments.

Access our rental database and rental information about the private rental market. Bring in your Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) card when you need advice, assessment and information from a doctor about general health and lifestyle issues. Make an appointment to receive advice on money management, scholarships and grants. Access free and confidential counselling support for any problem or concern. Includes study-related counselling. This unit provides loads of advice in particular resolving discrimination and harassment-based grievances. If you have a disability or medical condition, this service ensures you are can actively participate in all aspects of university life. |

We have a range of facilities on VU campuses and professional instructors to help you with your fitness routines and sporting activities. These centres provide full-time, part-time and sessional care and education for your children aged three months to six years of age. |
