Get started on your career in the health industry, with the Undergraduate Certificate in Health Science from Victoria University.

This course gives you a recognised qualification within six months – providing a fast track towards a new career.

You’ll graduate with foundational knowledge of the Australian healthcare system and the context within which the system functions. In particular, you’ll be able to:

  • source information, understand it and communicate it in a culturally respectful and sensitive manner
  • communicate basic health science evidence in a variety of formats
  • explain the basic principles and concepts that underpin public health and wellness issues in Australia
  • discuss the basic workings of the Australian healthcare system.

If you decide to keep studying to aim for higher roles, you may progress to the Bachelor of Health Science.

Applicants for this course will need to meet the entry criteria outlined below. If you don’t meet the entry criteria, you may be able to gain entry by first completing a related course or unit(s). We call this a ‘pathway’.
