About Susan Irvine

Susan is a registered nurse and is a Senior Lecturer at Victoria University. She has extensive experience in curriculum development and teaching undergraduate and postgraduate health professionals.

Susan joined Victoria University in January 2019 following previous roles as a Lecturer at Monash University and conjoint Senior Lecturer at Deakin University as Simulation Coordinator in the Medical Student Program. Other academic roles include Lecturer at La Trobe University and Course Coordinator at the Ballarat University. Her previous roles also include experience as a clinician and health service manager, with several leadership roles in Oncology, Palliative Care and Aged Care.

Susan has a keen interest in educational research and clinical risk, translating the research outcomes into teaching, student learning and clinical practice. She has completed several collaborative research projects as chief investigator and has published in several peer-reviewed journals.
