Making up for lost time

After completing a marketing qualification, Watcharapong Kanjanakrit (River) followed his true creative calling and travelled from Thailand to Victoria University to gain world-class make-up skills.

"I completed a masters degree in marketing communication but then I realised my true passion was in make-up and hair. I decided to enrol in Diploma of Specialist Make-up Services at Victoria University where I perfected my skills in hairstyling, wig designing, various types of makeup and special makeup effects.

I am so glad that I made that decision to take the course because I have never been happier.

The course was held at our City Campus, located in the heart of the Melbourne CBD. It was so convenient to get to and I felt like I really belonged there. All the educators were friendly, supportive and so willing to go the extra mile to teach us.

I had some knowledge about make-up before I started the course but I had no idea how to style hair. Now, I feel confident to do both, which gives me more opportunity to succeed in the industry.

I now run my own photography and make up artistry in Bangkok. The high standard of knowledge and skills I received from the course made me stand out from others. Moreover, the portfolio I created both on and off campus during my time in Melbourne became very useful. It differentiates me from others."
