The areas of study for Unit 2 are ‘Functions and graphs’, ‘Algebra’, ‘Rates of change and calculus’, and ‘Probability’. Students are expected to be able to apply techniques, routines and processes involving rational and real arithmetic, algebraic manipulation, equation solving, graph sketching, differentiation and integration with and without the use of technology, as applicable. This unit is studied in Year 11.
Demonstration of 'Satisfactory completion' by a selection of Assessment tasks and Level of Performance by SAC (Tests) and Exams.
The qualified trainer and assessor will provide teaching and learning materials as required in the form of workbooks produced by Victoria University and/or via the Victoria University e-learning system.
This unit is not compulsory for any specific course. Depending on the course you study, this unit may be taken as an elective.
