Dr Brian Mundy has been a lecturer at VU since 2010 and a senior lecturer since 2020. Brian is also currently co-chair of the Bachelor of Education P-12.
He teaches units in pedagogy and science education within the Bachelor of Education and Masters of Secondary Education.
In 2014 he was awarded an Office for Learning and Teaching (OLT) citation for excellence in his teaching. More specifically for the development of integrated and engaging curriculum and teaching practices by an early career teacher in support of student learning in teacher education placements.
Prior to his arrival at VU, Brian worked as a secondary teacher in the western suburbs of Melbourne for 31 years.
Whilst working at school Brian started on his PhD studies exploring the construction of curriculum in his setting and using a narrative approach.
In 2013 he completed his PhD entitled The millennial school: A theoretical basis for curriculum design in a time of educational transgression.
