- Exercise & Sports Science Australia (ESSA)
Danilo is an Accredited Exercise Physiologist (AEP) and the Clinic Manager for the Master of Clinical Exercise Science and Rehabilitation (AMEP) course in the College of Sport, Health and Engineering. In this role, Danilo is responsible for overseeing student internal and external placements.
Danilo started his career at the Centre of Biomedical Studies in Ferrara, where he looked after both athletes and individuals requiring rehabilitation following stroke. Danilo also worked at the San Giorgio rehabilitation hospital in Ferrara at the Department of Peripheral Vascular Disease Rehabilitation, working with terminal diabetes and PAD patients.
After moving to Australia, Danilo worked at the Green Apple Wellness Centre (Brisbane) as an AEP specialised in chronic disease management, and as the T2D and HEAL course coordinator and facilitator.
Danilo moved to Melbourne in 2012. He got in touch with Exercise & Sports Science Australia (ESSA), and started the long journey to have his Italian qualification recognised. This required him to move to Brisbane to complete specific training required by ESSA. During his training Danilo was employed at The Green Apple Wellness Centre, an exercise physiologist clinic. After four years he returned to Melbourne and started his Clinic Practice Supervisor position at Victoria University. With time, his responsibilities have grown and thanks to his effort and hard work he was granted his current position, Clinic Manager.
