Dr. Maryanne Pale is a Teaching and Research Academic in the College of Arts, Business, Law, Education & IT.

She is appointed as a Senior Lecturer, Education; a Course Chair, Education (Primary); a Senior Officer, Academic Integrity; and she is a Research Associate of the Institute for Sustainable Industries & Liveable Cities. Under the Education program at Victoria University, Dr. Maryanne Pale convenes and lectures in the curriculum areas of English and literacy education.

In the field of education, Dr. Maryanne Pale’s expertise has seen her successfully initiate and co-lead projects that have attracted state and federal grants in Australia. In 2022, she was awarded with the Dean of School of Social Sciences, Media, Film and Education 'Emerging Researcher Award' at Swinburne University of Technology. In addition, Dr. Maryanne Pale has current research collaborations with academics at Deakin University (Melbourne) and La Trobe University (Melbourne), as well as research collaborations with academics across Australia and internationally.

Dr. Maryanne Pale’s research interests include Initial Teacher Education, English and literacy education, Tongan/Pacific epistemologies and methodologies, and the education of learners form culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds. She is available to supervise Master and PhD candidates at Victoria University.
