Mr Nichols is a Policy Analyst and Project Coordinator at the Australian Health Policy Collaboration (AHPC) within the IHES Health Policy Team. He holds a Bachelor of Food Science and Nutrition from Deakin University and a Master of Science, Dietetics from Victoria University, completed in 2011 and 2016 respectively.
He has been part of the AHPC team since 2017, while also holding a role as a Policy Advisor at the Continence Foundation of Australia from 2017-2019.
During his time at the AHPC, Mr Nichols has coordinated or supported key projects across a variety of health policy areas, including health system design and financing, self-care, nutrition and diet, sleep health, consumer engagement, oral health, mental and physical comorbidities and addressing health inequities. He has also led or contributed to the development of multiple policy publications, peer-reviewed articles, technical papers and Government strategies.
