Educational exclusion – a hard habit to break
This event has already taken place.
Professor Pat Drake, Dean, College of Education, invites you to attend the third seminar in the 2015 Diamond Series, Educational exclusion – a hard habit to break, presented by Professor Roger Slee.
Talk of inclusive education for students with disabilities saturates contemporary education policy. The range of students being described as having special needs is expanding, and expenditure on programs for students with additional educational needs continues to grow. But what are we actually doing to ensure authentic social inclusion for these students in schools?
This presentation will invite us to interrogate emerging patterns of disablement and consider how we can progress toward a new era of policy and practice for students with disabilities in Australian state and territory schools.
