VU's Bachelor of Business (Marketing) course, taught at Footscray Park, Sunway University College, Kuala Lumpur and Sunway College, Johor Bahru, has been accredited by the Australian Marketing Institute (AMI).
"The School of International Business values the discipline of Marketing as a vital specialisation that all VU Bachelor of Business students can undertake as part of their program of study," Professor Alison Morrison, Head of the School of International Business, said. "We are delighted to have achieved recognition through the formal AMI accreditation. The School looks forward to a successful and enduring professional relationship with the Institute, with high impacts for teaching and learning quality, and graduate capabilities."
The course has now been quality assured by the independent industry body, and graduates will be encouraged to become professional members of the AMI.
Mark Crowe, Chief Executive Officer of the AMI said, "We're delighted that the Faculty of Business and Law at VU has achieved the distinction of having their Bachelor of Business (Marketing) formally accredited, both domestically and for their offshore campuses, in what is a major milestone for the marketing profession."
"For us, and our objective of providing the very best in representation and professional development for more than 7,800 members across the country, it is a significant step in our advancement of marketing as a critical value-adding activity."
VU had to meet AMI's stringent accreditation criteria, which includes passing an external review of education quality, and a review of the program and documentation by an accreditation team.
The review process required an assessment of the program objectives, and meeting with academics and administrators involved with providing the degree to students.
This accreditation will allow VU to add the Institute's imprimatur to the accredited course, providing an independent verification of status and quality.
VU's Bachelor of Business (Marketing) provides an environment to learn about marketing theories and how to implement practical marketing solutions, and gain an in-depth understanding of customer needs in the marketplace. Graduates will be well equipped to pursue a career in marketing management in large and medium corporations, or consulting roles in marketing research or advertising agencies.
