Dr Hussein Tahiri is a well-known public commentator on Middle Eastern affairs, and his contributions in this sphere are regularly published in local and international media. 

He holds a PhD in Political Science from the University of Melbourne (2001) and a Bachelor of Arts with Honours (Politics) from La Trobe University (1995).

Dr Hussein Tahiri arrived in Australia as a refugee in 1989 and has worked in a variety of different areas. They include housing officer, research officer, community development worker, settlement planning officer, project manager, research analyst and lecturer.
