About Vasily Novozhilov

Professor Vasily Novozhilov's research expertise is in mathematical methods of mechanics and chemical physics.

In particular, he made contributions to development, as well as theoretical and numerical investigation of mathematical problems in fluid mechanics, heat transfer and combustion. His research career in this area spans over 35 years.

Professor Novozhilov also has 35 years practical experience in fire safety engineering, including fire modelling, fire testing and consultancy. He conducted pioneering studies in computational fluid dynamics modelling of compartment fire dynamics and suppression, large scale fires and explosions.

Professor Novozhilov has contributed over 140 technical publications, delivered 15 invited and keynote lectures, and is a recipient of a number of international awards and honours. He is an Editorial Board member of leading international journals.
