About Fiona Druitt
Dr Druitt’s research is transdisciplinary and focuses on reposing modern translation problems, such as translations between science and society, nature and culture, humans and non-humans, and research and practice (among others).
Dr Druitt is currently a Research Fellow in the multidisciplinary Australian Security Science Partnership (ASSP) between Victoria University, Victoria Police and DST, researching violent extremism. Dr Druitt is also a collaborating member of the Sport and Social Change Living Lab, where her work considers pathways to impact in the context of participatory research for social change (the ‘change makers’ initiative). Dr Druitt is passionate about transdisciplinary and interdisciplinary research methods, translating research into practice, and is currently a member of Victoria University’s Impact working group.
Dr Druitt holds a PhD in cultural studies from the University of Melbourne, and bachelor degrees (each with honours) in Arts (cultural studies and creative writing) and science (applied mathematics, physics) from the University of Melbourne. Dr Druitt is also trained as a writer. She is currently writing a monograph, ‘Two Natures, Two Cultures’.
