About Jack Feehan

Jack is a postdoctoral research fellow in the Institute for Health and Sport, with an interest in translational immunotherapeutics, healthy ageing, and chronic diseases. He currently works in the translational immunology group of the mechanisms and interventions in health and disease program, working on developing vaccines for autoimmune and neurodegenerative diseases.

Jack gained his Ph.D. from the University of Melbourne in 2021, looking into immunological and stem cell involvement in chronic musculoskeletal disease of the elderly. Since beginning his Ph.D. he has published more than 40 peer reviewed journal articles, several book chapters and a textbook on exercise in chronic disease. He regularly writes on COVID-19 and vaccines for global media organization, the conversation, where his articles have been read by more the 1.3 million readers.

Jack is currently supervising a number of research students, who are working on developing vaccines for substance use disorders of methamphetamine, multiple sclerosis, and alzheimer's disease, therapeutic devices for wound healing, and biology of nutrition.
