James is the Discipline Lead for Paramedicine and Course Chair of the Bachelor of Paramedicine in the College of Sport, Health and Engineering at Victoria University. James is also a Registered Paramedic with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
James has been a paramedic for 15 years, working for both Ambulance Victoria (AV) in Australia and in England for the NHS. He has taught into both undergraduate and postgraduate paramedicine programs at universities in Australia and England over the past 10 years.
James is currently undertaking his PhD through Western Sydney University looking at the provision of humanistic maternity care by paramedics alongside the birthing experience of women in the out of hospital environment in England. He also has a strong focus on teaching evidence based maternity and paediatric focused care.
