About Maja Husaric

Maja is a Senior Academic within the First Year College at Victoria University, contributing to multiple programs, including paramedicine, osteopathy, and bioscience. She teaches first-year subjects such as pharmacology and clinical physiology and is committed to enhancing the student experience in health sciences. Her teaching philosophy focuses on creating impactful, student-centred learning environments for future health professionals.

Maja’s educational research explores the integration of core concepts in physiology across Australian universities, curriculum development in biomedical science courses, and the impact of Generative AI on commencing student outcomes within Victoria University's innovative Block Model for health science courses.

Maja is also Research Fellow in the Institute for Health and Sport focusing on photobiomodulation therapy, exploring its potential as a non-invasive treatment for inflammatory diseases.

A strong advocate for gender equality and ethics in research, Maja is committed to fostering inclusive and responsible scientific practices.

What is thrombocytopenia, the rare blood condition possibly linked to the AstraZeneca vaccine?
