About Sam McIntosh
Dr Sam McIntosh completed his PhD in 2020, with Victoria University and the Western Bulldogs Football Club. Sam’s PhD focused on how player performance data can be modelled to inform various aspects of team and player individuality, value and potential, with a specific focus on providing a framework to support player drafting and recruitment in the AFL.
Since January 2020, Sam has been a List and Recruitment Analyst and Postdoctoral Researcher with Victoria University. He has spent time co-appointed with the Western Bulldogs Football Club, and contributes to Victoria University's TRACK team. Sam’s applied focus and research primarily investigates how player performance data and sport analytics can best forecast and profile athlete performance to improve organisational decision making.
