"My eight-month Work Integrated Learning (WIL) placement as a marketing and event co-ordinator assistant at Channel 9 helped me grow professionally and academically. It was exciting because I had opportunities to do a range of marketing and event activities.
I learned to deal with challenging deadlines and liaised with internal and external stakeholders including sponsors, television hosts, producers and reporters. My responsibilities included helping co-ordinate events such as the 53rd Annual TV Week Logie Awards, The Block open-house inspections and the Mother's Day Classic, which raises awareness of breast cancer research.
My work placement definitely gave me the confidence and competitive edge I needed when I job hunt after I complete my degree.
Since graduation, I began a graduate position at L'Oréal before gaining a permanent position and was promoted to business consultant. In my role I'm driving sales of products over various brands within L'Oréal, actioning new business opportunities and building client relationships to achieve increased sales, profitability and market share."
