F1 in Schools hub to be hosted by Wyndham Tech School

Wyndham Tech School is partnering with Re-Engineering Australia Foundation Ltd to create an F1 in Schools hub for Wyndham and Hobsons Bay.

The hub, which will explore a new educational experience through Formula 1 and STEM appeal, supports Wyndham Tech School’s 37 partner schools to embed industry skills and technology in their curriculum.

Schools access advanced technologies at Wyndham Tech School

The partnership will provide schools with access to student programs and professional teacher learning, industry partnerships and community events while participating in the world’s most competitive STEM competition.

A 10-week introduction program is offered, which starts students on their F1 journey to a world final. Two schools have already committed to a 30-week development program design to have teams ready to compete at the 2022 F1 in Schools Victorian Finals, being hosted at Wyndham Tech School.

Facilitators with backgrounds in engineering, industrial design, and mechatronics will deliver these programs. Students will also work with industry specialists to develop their 3D aerodynamic design and testing skills, design for manufacture, business intelligence, and user experience design.

F1 in Schools

F1 in Schools™ is a multi-faceted and multi-disciplinary program based on the design of miniature F1® race cars. It facilitates students collaborating with industry partners within the context of their projects to learn STEM principles. Program focus is toward students between 11 and 18 years of age.
