Victoria University (VU) and Melbourne-based mutual financial institution, Futurity Investment Group Limited (Futurity), have announced a strategic partnership that will benefit students, graduates and researchers. Both organisations are leaders in educational innovation with an aligned vision of providing and supporting a quality education that is affordable, accessible and inclusive.
A two-year Memorandum of Understanding outlining the partnership collaboration areas was signed last week at VU’s City Campus by VU Deputy Vice-Chancellor (External Relations and Partnerships) Wade Noonan and Futurity Chief Executive Officer, Sam Sondhi. They were joined by staff from across VU and Futurity including VU Deputy Vice Chancellor, (Research with Impact) Andy Hill and Futurity Board Non-Executive Director, Tony Brain.
Wade Noonan, VU Deputy Vice-Chancellor (External Relations and Partnerships), said VU was committed to partnering with like-minded organisations that can collaborate with VU to empower students to succeed on their own terms, regardless of their circumstances, and advocate for inclusive education for all.
“Our new partnership with Futurity will lift the educational and graduate opportunities for our students, particularly in areas like business, communications and information technology,
” Mr Noonan said.
This new agreement continues Victoria University’s important work in driving greater innovation through our industry partnerships, and we’re very proud to be announcing this ground-breaking collaboration with Futurity.”
Sam Sondhi, Futurity Chief Executive Officer, said education is a powerful tool for change.
“We admire VU’s innovative approach to research, advocacy and study, in particular its award-winning Block Model which allows students to study one subject at a time,
” Mr Sondhi said.
Futurity and VU are united in the belief that education changes lives. It is critical for Australia’s long-term success that quality education is affordable, accessible and inclusive across all parts of society.
Futurity is thrilled to be collaborating with VU and excited by the possibilities of the partnership.”
The partnership between VU and Futurity will focus on several areas including student engagement and employment pathways as well as research and advocacy focused on promoting equitable access to education for all Australians.
