Victoria University Launches SAP Academy
Victoria University (VU) has been selected by SAP Australia and New Zealand to host Australia’s first SAP Academy, to help Australians obtain the right skills for the jobs of the future.
The new academy will offer classes in established and emerging technologies, like SAP S/4HANA® and SAP Analytics Cloud, with successful participants receiving SAP’s globally recognised software certifications.
VU Vice-Chancellor Professor Adam Shoemaker said the SAP Academy, located at the new VU City Tower in the heart of the Melbourne CBD, will broaden the important 23 year-long partnership with SAP Australia and New Zealand.
“VU is a partnering institution. By collaborating with world-leading organisations like SAP, we enrich our educational offering and provide greater career and professional opportunities for learners,” Professor Shoemaker said.
“We are excited SAP has selected VU to deliver this globally recognised program. The partnership confirms VU’s reputation as a university that prepares and delivers industry-primed graduates.”
Damien Bueno, President and Managing Director, SAP Australia and New Zealand said VU had the state of the art learning management systems and the specialist academics needed to run a compelling and meaningful program to upskill Australians.
“Two years on from the pandemic, organisations across Australia – large and small – are grappling with a wide variety of challenges. Many businesses are looking to upskill their workforce and to recruit knowledgeable tech talent at a rapid pace, in order to grow and remain agile in the face of these challenges,” Mr Bueno said.
“Technology providers, partners and universities play a crucial role in helping to upskill Australians, lift the digital skills capability of this country and, ultimately, provide our customers and other organisations with the talent they need to achieve their ambitions, adapt continuously, and grow sustainably.
“We are excited to partner with Victoria University to offer our globally recognised certifications in a face-to-face learning environment. Our vision is that the SAP Academy will be used by our customers and our partners to fulfil their training needs and build the capabilities they need to succeed, both now and in the future,” Mr Bueno said.
VU’s current SAP Next Gen-Lab, launched in 2018, will move into the VU City Tower and complement the new SAP Academy. The SAP Next Gen-Lab will continue to develop the skills of Masters students, not only technically, but the soft skills required by industry.
VU also manages the Asia-Pacific-Japan region’s only Academic Competence Centre, which exclusively provides SAP® software to universities, under the SAP University Alliances program.
SAP currently offers over 150 globally recognised certificate courses, ensuring an entire workforce remains skilled and ready to engage in a fast-paced industry, meeting the needs of a growing number of businesses, big and small, global and local.
The SAP Certifications will be taught by SAP-certified trainers, with significant professional experience in the field and established industry connections.
Due to open in early 2022, the VU City Tower is situated in the heart of Melbourne’s legal and corporate district and will feature the latest technology in learning and teaching. VU City Tower brings together TAFE and Higher Education opportunities for a new generation of students.
