Overview

Start a rewarding career in the health, aged care, or disability sector with a Certificate III in Allied Health Assistance HLT33021 at Victoria University.

As part of your studies, you will learn:

  • effective communication strategies specific to health or community services
  • anatomy and physiology
  • infection prevention and control
  • workplace health and safety
  • First Aid.

You will gain the skills needed to work in the allied health sector, including:

  • how to prepare for and assisting with therapy sessions
  • provide relevant information to clients
  • use therapy equipment correctly and safely
  • complete relevant administrative duties.

This course is only offered through the VET Delivered to Secondary School (VDSS) as a partial completion over 2 years. A Statement of Attainment is issued for units completed.

Course structure

To be awarded HLT33021 Certificate III in Allied Health Assistance, 12 units must be completed consisting of:

  • 7 core units
  • 5 elective units, consisting of:

  • at least 4 electives listed in the qualification
  • up to 1 unit from any endorsed Training Package or accredited course – this unit must be relevant to the work outcome.


VET Delivered to Secondary Schools (VDSS):

VU offers the VET Delivered to Secondary Schools (VDSS) Program Structure as a partial completion. Students will be issued with a Statement of Attainment for passed units.


To meet with the VCE Units 3 and 4 unscored rules and additional electives have been included beyond the training package requirements to ensure minimum hours are met.
