Overview

Learn how to advocate for environmental practices in the construction industry, by studying Sustainable Infrastructure Construction and Management at Victoria University.

Conventional construction has adverse impacts on the environment. This course will equip you will the skills needed to help transition the industry to green building standards.

You'll learn how to challenge traditional construction methodologies to adopt modern technology, green materials and optimise resource efficiency.

While studying this course, you will:

  • analyse resource consumption and environmental impacts of construction processes and materials
  • gain industry-standard knowledge of innovative technologies
  • learn methods of maximising social outcomes
  • become familiar with sustainable procurement models.

The course will be delivered via both face to face and online learning.

Course structure

Completion of 32 hours over 8 weeks

This course consists of four smaller subjects:

  • Introduction to Infrastructure Sustainability (2 x 4 hours over two weeks)
  • Green Construction (2 x 4 hours over two weeks)
  • Water, Energy and Carbon (2 x 4 hours over two weeks)
  • Sustainable Procurement and Social Sustainability (2 x 4 hours over two weeks).

You can choose to enrol into each of these individually.
