This weekly evening course is designed for people who need to identify risks using the Multi-Agency Risk Assessment and Management Framework (MARAM) framework.
Whether you are in a professional or voluntary role, the course will give you practical skills in identifying and assessing risk, and responding to clients who are experiencing family violence.
By the end of the course, you will understand how to:
- identify the presenting risk of family violence
- provide a response appropriate to the individual
- use MARAM identification tools, including levels 1, 2, 5, 6, 9 and 10, as appropriate
- engage with the individual in a respectful, sensitive and safe manner
- determine appropriate professionals or services for secondary consultation
- seek and share risk-relevant information.
You will also understand how to contribute to coordinated risk-management, and how to collaborate with others in ongoing risk-assessment and risk-management.
If you plan to further specialise in family-violence risk-assessment and management, the course also offers a strong foundation in understanding family violence and risk for further study.
