VET/TAFE census & payment deadlines
Check important enrolment and payment deadlines for your VET/TAFE course.
Know your payment deadlines
You must pay your fees in full by the due date stated on your statement of account (invoice). We will let you know when your enrolment is finalised. You can then view your statement of account via MyVU.
If you are unable to pay by the due date, you may be able to access financial support.
If your enrolment is processed after the payment due date, you will receive an overdue statement of account (invoice).
If you miss the payment deadline, a sanction (block) will be applied to your student record, which may prevent you from receiving results, academic transcripts, statement of attainment, graduating and re-enrolling.
What is the census date
Courses at diploma level and above have census dates. Census date is the last day for you to finalise your course enrolment for each relevant study period(s) in one of these ways:
- deferring your fees via a VET Student Loan (VSL) by completing the electronic Commonwealth Assistance Form (eCAF) that will be sent to your personal email address with a valid Tax File Number (TFN)
- withdrawing from units or your course to avoid financial liability
- applying for intermission (leave of absence) to avoid financial liability (if enrolled in a Diploma or above course); international students only
- making payments towards your tuition fees if you are eligible for a VSL but have chosen to make up front payments.
Courses at certificate level do not have a census date. You will receive a Statement of Account (SOA) with a payment due date and you must pay for your course by this date.
