Next Generation Water Management in the Werribee River Catchment
The region of the Werribee River catchment is seeing immense residential growth, while at the same time serving as a critical agricultural and manufacturing region for Australia. Water management, value to the community and history of use by Traditional Owners are critical to this growth.
This project brings together Traditional Owners, experts from the community, industry, and academia to align real-world needs and community values.
This research will:
- create relationships with Traditional Owner Groups who have boundaries along the Werribee River
- produce recommendations to harness locally available stormwater resources
- develop strategies for water loss management
- focus on community values and behaviours with regard to the water cycle.
