: We're offering scholarships up to the value of $5,000 for VU Early Entry members. These scholarships are paid incrementally throughout your studies.

The answers you give in your VU Early Entry application will also be used as your scholarship application — so make sure you take the time to put your best foot forward when submitting!

VU Early Entry Innovator: Awarded to students with a vision on how they can improve and change the world around them for the better.

VU Early Entry Community Leader: Awarded to students who contribute to their school, family or community in a positive way.

VU Early Entry Achiever: Awarded to students with outstanding VCE results.

With ATARNotes+, you always have access to the best study materials. This subscription, valued at $199, is free for VU Early Entry members.
: For all VCE-scored students, 5 bonus ATAR points will be added to your ATAR score for VU courses that consider ATAR as part of the admission requirements*, giving you the competitive edge.

VU will use your VTAC preference list to supply you with a Conditional Offer* for a bachelor course in either September or October. This gives you the flexibility to change your interest right through the VTAC period and receive a Conditional Offer for a bachelor course that aligns with your goals.

* Bachelor of Education (P-12) and Bachelor of Education (Primary) excluded.

After year 12 results are released, you will also receive a personalised course plan to help you take the first steps towards your dream career.

How to apply

If you are a Year 11 or 12 student studying VCE, VCE Vocational Major, Unscored VCE or an International Baccalaureate in Victoria, you are eligible for VU Early Entry. Follow these steps to apply!

Submit your application and you'll hear back from us within 7 days.

You will need to include your desired VU course as your highest eligible preference on your VTAC preference list (so make sure it's up to date!), or apply directly if it is an apply-direct course.

Tips to help you prepare

As part of the application, you'll be asked to tell us a little about yourself by answering the following questions:

Why do you want to study at VU?
How do you contribute to your community, school or family?
Who inspires you to succeed?
How would studying at VU help you to make a difference in the world?

We are looking for applicants who embody the values of Victoria University: progressive, forward-thinking, inclusive and bold! We recommend trying to incorporate these values into your responses.

: I would like to study at VU because of the positive reputation it receives from the media and current and past students of the university, as well as the atmosphere of the institution I experienced when attending the campus for open days or sport training.

The opportunities that VU offers through courses and partnerships add another aspect to why VU is my first university preference.

The way in which the Block Model is run also appeals to me and I believe will assist me in achieving the best I can.
: I have volunteered with The Uniting Care within the last year and have received a Certificate of Appreciation. During this time I assisted with the distribution of food to less fortunate members of the Geelong community.

I also have a driving passion for environmental health and sustainability. Through my casual employment I engage with management in an attempt to change and improve environmental practices of the business to ensure that a more sustainable approach is taken. : 1. My late grandfather inspires me to succeed. At the age of 20 he started his own business and built his dream from the ground up. He migrated to Australia with very little English and was a hard worker who provided for his family and gave back to the community during his life. I have inherited his work ethic, and know that if I have the opportunity to go to university I will be able to go even further and also give back to the community.

2. I’m inspired to succeed by former prime minister Julia Gillard. She was a trailblazer for Australian women, a leader in politics and a former lawyer – also a male-dominated profession. She fought against discrimination to get to the top of her career and while in power she responded to unfair targeting and slanderous behaviour with intelligence and respect.
: Getting an education at Victoria University will enable me to gain the knowledge to help others in my community, as I hope to become a nurse.

I’m hoping to be able to specialise in mental health nursing as I believe that it is such an important area among the community and particularly younger people.

I’m hoping that studying nursing will help give me the skills to support young people who are struggling and give them the skills they need to get back on their feet.

: Congratulations!

To receive a Conditional Offer and/or be considered for a place in a VU course, you will still need to apply for a place in your preferred course(s) at VU or VU TAFE. All of VU’s bachelor courses and some VU TAFE courses need to be applied for through VTAC during VTAC’s application/preferencing periods. Some VU TAFE courses can only be applied for directly through the VU website.

To be offered a place in a VU course you need to meet the admission requirements for the course(s) you apply for. If you don’t your tailored course plan will provide you with the next best choice for you depending on your Year 12 results.

If a course reaches capacity, and VU is unable to offer an otherwise eligible student a place in a preferred course, VU will also provide suggestions of an alternative course.
: Don’t worry! If you're not successful the first time around, we'll be in touch to give you some advice on crafting your application.
: If you are completing scored VCE, you are eligible to receive a Conditional Offer for a VU bachelor course of your choosing.

To receive a Conditional Offer, add a VU course to your VTAC preference list. You will receive a Conditional Offer for your highest VU bachelor course preference*.

If you apply prior to 28 August and have a VU bachelor course added to your VTAC preference list you can expect your conditional offer in September. If you apply after 28 August and have a VU bachelor course added to your VTAC preference list you can expect your Conditional Offer in October.

You will only receive one Conditional Offer.

*Bachelor of Education (P-12) and Bachelor of Education (Primary) are excluded from Conditional Offers. If you preference these courses you will receive an alternative Conditional Offer.
: If you are applying through VTAC, you will only get offered a course at VU if VU is your highest eligible preference and you are eligible for that course.
: You will receive an email directly from ATARNotes+ within 7 days after your acceptance into the VU Early Entry program with instructions on how to set up your membership.

Membership for ATARNotes+ is valued at $199 and is free for members of the VU Early Entry program.
: You will receive your gym pass within 14 days of your VU Early Entry program acceptance by email.

Your pass is valid for you and a friend for 30 visits and can be used up to 31 December 2024.
: The VU Scholarship team will review your VU Early Entry program responses and award the VU Early Entry Innovator Scholarship and the VU Early Entry Community Leader Scholarship based on this.

VU Early Entry Achiever Scholarship will be based on your Year 12 results.
: If you applied for VU Guaranteed as a Year 11 student in 2023, you don't need to do anything!

VU Early Entry has replaced VU Guaranteed. You will be eligible to receive all the same membership perks as students who apply for VU Early Entry.
: By submitting a VU Early Entry application, you agree to receive information and communications from VU about your application and VU courses you apply for.

When making your VU Early Entry application you may opt-out of receiving marketing communications that are unrelated to your VU Early Entry application and course applications.

In the event that you are offered a VU Early Entry membership, VU may ask you to consent to the disclosure, publication and dissemination of your name and likeness for VU’s advertising and marketing purposes relating to VU Early Entry. VU will always ask for your permission before using your personal information for these purposes.
: By submitting a VU Early Entry application, you agree to VU sharing your responses with your school.

You can consent for VU to share your personal details with ATARNotes+ for the purpose of creating your free ATARNotes+ study account. This consent can be withdrawn at any time.
