New Colombo Plan Scholarship

The New Colombo Plan scholarship gives you the opportunity to live, work and study in the Indo-Pacific region.

The New Colombo Plan (NCP) Scholarship Program is an Australian Government initiative that provides Australian students with funding to study and undertake language training, an internship or a mentorship in one of 40 participating Indo-Pacific locations.

Applications for 2025 are now closed.

Value & benefits

The scholarships offer a generous financial package covering, among other benefits:

tuition fees for academic and language study
travel and establishment allowances
monthly stipend for living costs.

Eligibility

To be considered for the NCP Scholarship, you must:

be currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree at Victoria University
have completed one year of undergraduate study at the time of departure
be aged 18-28 (inclusive) on 1 January 2025
be an Australian citizen.

How to apply

To submit a formal application for the NCP Scholarship Program, you must be nominated by VU.

To express your interest in applying, make a short video (up to 2 minutes long) to:
introduce yourself
explain your interest in applying for the NCP Scholarship
specify the destination you would like to study or undertake an internship/mentorship in
describe how you would hope to benefit from studying or working overseas.
Upload your video to a video sharing site, such as Panopto or YouTube.
Then email [email protected] with:
your resume - must be completed on the VU Careers Hub template accessed via the Careers Toolkit
the link to your video.
