Airport reception for international students

When you first arrive in Melbourne as an international student visa holder who will study at VU Melbourne, we can welcome you at the airport and take you to your accommodation.

You must apply for airport reception reception at least four (4) days (96 hours) before you arrive in Melbourne. It is a free service.

Before you book

There are some important things you need to consider before you book our airport reception service:

International student visa holder (subclass 500)

Only VU international students with a student visa (subclass 500) are eligible for this service. Each VU student must submit their own airport reception booking request.

Additional passengers

Additional passengers (e.g. family members) will need to pay AUD$50 (Australian dollars) per person. This fee needs to be paid in cash to the driver. Additional passengers will be taken to the student's accommodation.

Baggage

There is a maximum baggage limit of:

two pieces of standard check-in luggage (height 76cm, width 49cm, depth 30cm each, maximum 155 linear cm for each case)
one carry on item (height of 55cm, maximum 115 linear cm).

Boxes not accepted.

If you have any luggage that doesn’t meet the requirements above, you’ll need to make arrangements to transport it at your own expense.

When you arrive

On the day of your arrival, your driver will call or text you after your flight lands. Either have international roaming enabled or alternatively, please connect to the airport’s free Wi-Fi.

Before accepting your ride, make sure the driver has suitable identification, such as an Aero or Victoria University sign, confirming they’re a representative of Victoria University.

The driver will also have your name and contact number provided in this booking.
