VU student-turned-teacher, Sam Dang followed a flexible pathway from diploma to postgraduate study and now encourages his students to ‘dream big’ too.

"I began my study at VU with a Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care and proceeded to a Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood/Primary), which took me to where I am today.

I'm currently studying a Master of Education part-time through night classes. This opportunity through VU gives me flexibility and allows me to work during the day at the same time. VU also offers a lot of hands-on practical experience in the teaching profession. I've been able to build my professional networks.

I'm currently working at VU, teaching the Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care. My end goal is to go back and teach other adult learners who are studying each of the pathway courses I have taken myself. My advice to students is to dream big and go for it!"
