I met wonderful professors who guided me and helped me get my first internship. It really boosted my confidence to know that I would be ready for my professional career as soon as I graduate.

Master of Applied Information Technology
For Neeraj Sharma, upskilling at Victoria University (VU) was the launching point for a rewarding career solving technical challenges.
“Coming to VU has been the best decision I’ve made. I researched many universities before coming here from India, and I chose VU because the course was designed in a way that matched my career objectives.
“In my Master of Applied Information Technology, I studied technical, research and project management subjects, which has given me a broad knowledge of IT.
“I met wonderful professors who taught me well, who guided me with the latest technology, and who helped me get my first internship.”
Building employability skills
“VU provides a lot of support to students. For example, VU Employ helped me with my resume, my cover letter, my job applications and as well as working with me on my interview skills.
"It really boosted my confidence to know that I would be ready for my professional career as soon as I graduate.
“During my degree, I did two internships. The first was with VU IT services, and the other was with an external company, where I collaborated with a bunch of students from different universities. We worked on a real-time project, which really enhanced my team-building and communication skills.”
A place to thrive
“My main campus was Footscray Park. It’s a very beautiful place to study and a very relaxing environment.
“Outside my studies, I was involved with a lot of groups and activities at VU. I did leadership workshops which enhanced my skills, and I’ve also worked on various community projects as a volunteer.”
From student to staff
“I’ve been lucky enough to not only study here, but to get a chance to be an employee and work with VU.
“While I was studying, I was working as a student assistant at VU libraries. Soon after graduating, I got a job with VU IT services as an IT support officer, where I assist and provide technical support to students and staff. One thing which I love about this job is every day is a new learning opportunity.
“I’ve really enjoyed my time here as a student, and now as a staff member. If I had to do it all over again, I would do it in a heartbeat.”
