Overview

In this unit, students utilise the technological developments that have made computer mediated forms of design, artistic expression and communication possible. Students will leverage the conventions of visual and aural language and employ techniques for content creation and the development of engaging multimedia experiences. They undertake production and post-production of digital audio and video for a variety of contexts. Practical work will be supported by contemporary theory covering key issues of relevance to digital media practitioners.

Learning Outcomes

On successful completion of this unit, students will be able to:

  1. Devise an original moving image production with industry relevance supported by contemporary theory;
  2. Substantiate a digital sound and video production to peers and potential industry professionals through appropriate documentation
  3. Critically review the impact of moving image production on different aspects of community;
  4. Justify the creative and technical decision making of a digital video production and advocate for certain contextualised decisions; and
  5. Exhibit project management skills with high level personal autonomy and accountability.
