The ways in which audiences engage with narratives are changing due to developments in media distribution and technological convergence. Media narratives are interwoven across platforms and devices. These are experienced in a combination of real and virtual environments. In turn, target audiences and fans actively participate in, share, create, curate and influence these narratives.
In this unit, students will investigate media production from the perspective of how narratives worlds that can be formed. It will analyse the use, impact and potentials of participatory culture and user engagement that can expand these worlds.
