Overview

This unit explores a range of editing techniques used in motion-picture productions, within the screen media industry. This unit examines the use of editing in the development of narrative content across multiple screen formats, including television, film and social media. The unit includes theoretical and practical exercises based on industry productions and post-production workflows.

Learning Outcomes

On successful completion of this unit, students will be able to:

  1. Analyse and evaluate editing techniques through research and written reflection, connecting to industry practice;
  2. Evaluate the editing workflow as part of post-production process;
  3. Apply editing techniques to produced project work.
