The digital transformation is changing society and is evident all around us. The growing digitisation is setting new standards every day and bringing new challenges to economies, businesses and people. Mobile computing is now a commodity and has disrupted millions of companies over the past decade. People have become used to the speed and simplicity of consumer applications, and so business users expect the same simplicity from business software.
This unit investigates and analyses the impact and issues of adoption of mobile-first strategy by organisations. It will focus on the underlying concepts and standards of mobile application development using design thinking principals. Students will critically review emerging issues related to mobile computing and mobile application development, and how an agile approach can support current and future business operations. Students will investigate and examine mobile computing from four perspectives: mobile technology, application development, user experience, implementation and governance.
