This unit examines contemporary approaches to project planning and control, integrating theoretical frameworks with practical applications in complex project environments. Students will critically analyse project lifecycle planning, from conceptualisation through feasibility assessment to project monitoring and control. The unit emphasises the evaluation and application of advanced project control methodologies, including earned value management, time and cost planning techniques, and resource management strategies. Through critical examination of contemporary project management theories and practices, students will learn to design comprehensive project management plans, while building expertise in performance measurement and project monitoring and control. The unit is aligned with Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK®) professional standards.
