Overview

This unit is designed to provide students with an understanding of different aspects of project management practice and the roles and responsibilities of stakeholders in a project team. Utilising the PMBOK® (Project Management Body of Knowledge) Guide as a reference, the unit explores established knowledge areas in project management and their application to contemporary and emerging project environments. It examines how due diligence manifests in a project life cycle, addressing scope delivery, planning, execution, and review processes. Theoretical models are explored which integrate sustainable methods into projects and operations, aligning project outcomes with organisational strategic goals.

Learning Outcomes

On successful completion of this unit, students will be able to:

  1. Analyse established project management processes to implement project activities in various organizational contexts;
  2. Assess project communications tools and techniques to manage project information across diverse stakeholder environments;
  3. Critically review sustainable project management frameworks in accordance with industry standards and organisational objectives; and
  4. Evaluate collaborative project management approaches to develop effective team leadership practices.
