Overview

This unit aims to assist Internationally Qualified Registered Nurses (IQRN) to prepare for the Observed Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE). Students will be able to consolidate knowledge, integrate theory and reflect on practice gained from their previous nursing experience. Students will be specifically focussing on patient health needs in Australian healthcare settings. A holistic approach will be employed to critically reflect on the expectations of the Registered Nurse’s role in the provision of holistic and inclusive care to patients and their families/support network and significant others. The students will integrate case based scenarios in the clinical nursing labs and simulations to demonstrate professionalism, safe nursing practice and their ability to link theory to practice.
