This unit is designed to provide an understanding of the principles of project management practice and the roles and responsibilities of stakeholders and others in a project team. Utilising the PMBOK© (Project Management Body of Knowledge) Guide as a reference, the unit explores 10 Knowledge Areas in project management and instigates the process of applying these to contemporary and emerging project environments. The unit delivers a comprehensive understanding of how due diligence manifests in a project life cycle. It addresses what is to be delivered in a project (scope), how it is to be delivered (plan), the delivery and implementation (execution) and finally reporting and review. As projects are situated within organisations, relevant concepts of organisational management and human resource management are also analysed.
