Overview

The Built Environment Project 2 unit is the capstone unit that builds upon the work completed in the Built Environment Project 1 unit. This unit is the culmination of the student’s course, providing an opportunity to apply and integrate the knowledge and skills gained throughout their studies. Students will execute their research project based on the proposal developed in Built Environment 1, focusing on implementing appropriate methodologies, analysing data, and producing a comprehensive technical report. Additionally, this unit emphasises effective collaboration with stakeholders and the ability to justify and defend findings professionally and ethically.

Learning Outcomes

On successful completion of this unit, students will be able to:

  1. Implement appropriate methods to collect and analyse data, interrogate complex information, and draw defensible conclusions;
  2. Conduct an independent research project under supervision with a high level of personal autonomy and accountability;
  3. Distil ideas and persuasively communicate research findings to an academic audience; and
  4. Exemplify advanced communication skills by effectively presenting a research project in both written and oral formats to diverse audiences, including peers and academics.
