Overview

IT Capstone Project 2 specifically focuses on project delivery of the IT Capstone Project initiated in IT Capstone Project 1. It provides a unique opportunity for students to apply and integrate the knowledge and skills acquired throughout their university journey, bridging the gap to their IT professional careers.

The delivery of a Capstone Project includes the implementation of code, a final analysis report, user manual, project poster, and a final presentation and demonstration.

Whenever feasible, projects are sourced from industry partners, establishing a crucial link between academic learning and real-world IT challenges. Collaboration is strongly encouraged, fostering a collective approach among students to leverage their expertise for these projects.

Learning Outcomes

On successful completion of this unit, students will be able to:

  1. Rationalise and propose diverse solutions for both current and anticipated challenges relevant to the IT project;
  2. Integrate the proposed solutions into the IT project using the chosen technologies, languages, and platforms selected by the team;
  3. Experiment to verify the feasibility of proposed solutions;
  4. Critically evaluate the solution based on experimental results;
  5. Compose a variety of professional and technical materials specific to the projects, including analysis reports, code documentation, user manuals, posters, and presentation materials;
  6. Elucidate the implementation of the system to all pertinent audiences in an ethical and professional manner, while ensuring the protection of information privacy in IT projects.
